Trolleys and Hops

After a nearly 40-year hiatus, Transit Authority of River City brought back trolley service to downtown Louisville in 1987. The Toonerville II Trolleys were named for the Toonerville Trolley Cartoons by Fontaine Fox, and initially ran along Fourth Avenue from Broadway to the Waterfront.
In 1996, trolley service was introduced on Main Street and Market Street. Currently, Toonerville II services downtown Louisville’s business district, and riders are able to use the trolleys free of charge.
