A Better Way To Ride TARC!

Effective April 23, 2024, TARC mobile ticketing is available for fare payment on all trips on all routes.

To use mobile ticketing, TARC customers can download the Token Transit App (available in the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store) search for TARC, and choose the right mobile ticket. Single rides will cost the same as on the MyTARC fare card ($1.50 per trip).

What is MyTARC Mobile?

MyTARC Mobile is a new mobile ticketing fare option for TARC passengers to ride TARC fixed route service, with just their phone.

How does it work?

Mobile ticketing will be accepted as regular fare payment for all trips on all routes.

To use mobile ticketing, TARC passengers can download the Token Transit App (available in the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store), search for TARC, and choose the mobile ticket they would like to purchase. When ready to board the bus just activate the pass, then scan the QR code visible on the mobile device screen, face-down against the scanner on the farebox.

What fare options are available for MyTARC Mobile?

All standard passes will be available at launch, including the single trip, 24 hr.,
7-day, and 30-day pass, as well as relevant discounted pass options.

Will MyTARC Mobile allow for transfers?

Yes! MyTARC Mobile will include the standard two-hour transfer window for all tickets and passes. The two-hour transfer time starts once the pass or ticket is activated.

Will MyTARC Mobile cost more or less than the MyTARC fare card?

Mobile ticketing will cost the same as the MyTARC fare card (e.g. $1.50 per single trip). There are no other costs other than the cost of the fare purchased.

How will MyTARC Mobile work for families or those boarding with more than one person?

Multiple passengers can purchase and board for multiple people with just one app and one phone. Just activate the passes, scan, swipe, and scan again for each additional passenger.

How do I know if my pass is active?

Active passes will be displayed under “My Passes,” which immediately appears when the app is opened. They display a “time left” section with time remaining until the pass expires. Passes that have not been activated yet will be displayed under “stored passes.”

Can I use MyTARC Mobile without an internet connection?

The Token Transit App (available in the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store) requires a data internet connection when purchasing a pass and when activating a stored pass.

What payment methods are accepted to purchase fare with MyTARC Mobile?

Currently, MyTARC Mobile accepts credit, debit or a prepaid debit cards as forms of payment as well as Apple Pay on iOS devices and Google Pay on Android device.

I have a new phone number; how do I transfer my passes?

If you have a new phone number and need your passes transferred from your old phone number, please submit a support request through “Help” under Settings in the Token Transit App (available in the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store). Please provide your old and new phone numbers.

How long is a ticket good for once it has been purchased?

The ticket, if not activated, is good indefinitely.

Are tickets refundable once purchased?

No.
